About Us
The Cambodia Rural Students Foundation LTD is an Australian Government registered Tax Deductible Gift Recipient and charity - ABN 71613161158. Our mission is to provide education to rural students in Cambodia who may not have access to it otherwise. We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for these students and their communities.
We provide funding to the Cambodia Rural Students Trust ("CRST"), a registered NGO with the Cambodian Ministry of Interior. With the mission of breaking the poverty cycle through education, CRST provides quality education and mentorship to bright students from poor rural families. The education and extensive mentoring empower these students with tools to break the cycle of poverty which is prevalent in rural communities. CRST provides students with high school and university tuition, a living allowance, full health care, life skills courses and daily English and computer classes. The students contribute back to the community through regular volunteer and community service activities, including building houses, delivering monthly family care-packs to economically challenged rural families and leading impactful social enterprise projects.
The NGO is managed on the ground in Cambodia by our senior students, who are mentored in leading and managing the organisation as well as the 7 social enterprise Projects which address community needs.
Our Process
Our process is designed to ensure that every dollar donated to Cambodia Rural Students Foundation goes directly towards supporting our students. Thanks to the support of a generous private benefactor, all operational expenses of the non-profit organization are covered, ensuring that 100% of the funds raised are utilized for educational and community projects.
Scholarship Applications
We invite students from rural communities in Cambodia to apply for our scholarships. Applications are reviewed by our team and scholarships are awarded based on merit and financial circumstances.
Student
Support
Once a student is awarded a scholarship, we provide ongoing support to ensure that they have the resources they need to succeed. We sponsor our students’ education, health and dental care, life-skills courses and monthly living allowances.
Mentorship
The NGO is led and managed on the ground in Cambodia by our senior students, who are mentored in managing the organisation as well as the 7 Social Enterprise Projects. Students receive daily mentoring from a group of Australian business volunteers.
Community Engagement
We believe that community engagement is critical to the success of our programs. We work closely with families, schools, and local leaders to ensure that our programs are meeting the unique needs of each community we serve.
